Welcome

One of the leading clubs in East Hertfordshire, Bishop's Stortford Lawn Tennis Club based in Cricketfield Lane, has been providing tennis facilities to the people of Bishop's Stortford since the turn of the last century.

Our facilities include 5 floodlit artificial grass courts, 3 floodlit clay courts, 6 grass courts and 2 purpose built mini tennis courts in a kids zone. The club caters for all ages and standards of players, from age 4 red, orange and green mini-tennis to adult beginners and improvers.

As well as coffee mornings and competitive team tennis, there are specific club sessions throughout the week - men's mornings, ladies afternoons, mixed sessions, club nights and ladder leagues for the more competitive. There are junior coaching and training sessions every weekday afternoon from 4 pm-7pm and Saturday mornings. In short there is something for everyone.

Membership currently stands at over 300 seniors and 150 juniors. In the summer we run 5 ladies teams, 4 men's teams, a mixed team in the local village league and 6 junior teams. There is also a very active winter programme. Contact the team captains if you wish to take part in matches.

The club caters for all ages and standards of players, from age 4 red, orange and green mini-tennis to adult improvers, club night players and team players.

The coaching and playing requirements of all members is regularly reviewed by both the coaching staff and the playing committee. As part of the Bishop's Stortford Sports Trust we have access to the bar, toilet and changing facilities, which are shared with the cricket, hockey and squash clubs.

A committee that is elected on an annual basis at the AGM manages the club's affairs. The committee meets on the first Tuesday of every month. All suggestions and comments from members are welcomed and considered. Funding of the club comes primarily from memberships fees, but also sponsorship and fund raising social events.
