Bishop Stortford Mens 2 vs. Enfield 2, Home on April 28th 2007

BS 2's started the season with a convincing win against an under strength Enfield team 7 -2.  Jamie Buckling and Matt Eldrett won 3 from 3 and cruised through the afternoon only dropping 8 games all afternoon.  Peter Annis and Marc Collar won 2 from 3 losing only to Enfield's 1st pair.  Tom Reed and David Sparrow battled hard all afternoon winning 2 from 3, both matches going to 3rd set championship tie breaks.

BS Mens 2 vs. Cuffley 2, Home 12th May 2007

BS 2's were brought down to earth with a bump loosing 3 - 6 to a strong Cuffley team.  Peter Annis and Richard Johnson allowed the Cuffley 1st pair to come back at them and lost 6-2, 6-7,0-1 losing the 3rd set tie break and won 2 from 3.  Hussain Shaida and Gerry Stein had a tough afternoon going down 0 from 3.  Simon Taylor and Marc Collar got a good win against a strong 3rd pair winning 6-2 6-3 and winning 1 from 3.

BS Mens 1 vs. Northaw and Cuffley , Home 3rd June

Bishop’s Stortford Lawn Tennis Club Men’s 1st Captain Matt Hollands needed to field his strongest team against Northaw and Cuffley LTC on Sunday.  The home match attracted a good crowd at the Cricketfield Lane club and they were not disappointed with the performance.  After six matches, the two sides were neck and neck at 3 matches a piece, and in the scorching heat, the match could have gone either way.  An excellent display from Dave Reed and Richard (Magic) Johnson to beat Northaw and Cuffley’s unbeaten 1st pair boosted the team spirits and led to wins by the remaining two pairs.  An overall win of 6-3 means Bishop’s Stortford Men’s 1st team keep up their unbeaten run in this years Hertfordshire ‘Intermediate’ Men’s summer league.  They next face Letchworth LTC at home on the 17th June.
