Match Reports - Ladies

The BSLTC Ladies 4th Team have made a superb start to their Summer season with an 8-1 victory over Lister on the 10th June and a 7-2 victory over Leverstock Green on the 16th June.

On the 10th the 1st pair, Kath McConnell and Mary Davidson, sailed through their matches, without dropping a set to secure 3 wins. 2nd pair Claire Mahoney and Carol Mayes secured 2 wins, including a tough Championship tiebreak, and were unlucky to lose to Lister’s 3rd pair, in another intensely fought Championship tiebreak. 3rd pair Kathy Hunt and Jenny Kennedy secured 3 wins, which included two closely fought Championship tiebreaks, but they came out the victors! This win was particularly pleasing as none of the pairings had played a match together previously.

On 16th June the 1st pair, Sheelagh Swain and Mary Davidson managed to secure 3 wins without dropping a set. 2nd pair Claire Mahoney and Kym Calvert, who established themselves as a good pairing last season, also achieved 3 wins without dropping a set. 3rd pair Kathy Hunt and Carol Mayes, a new partnership, fought a tough battle, including two Championship tiebreaks and secured 1 win.
