The Club

Welcome to one of the leading clubs in East Hertfordshire.

Bishop’s Stortford Lawn Tennis Club has been providing tennis facilities to the people of Bishop’s Stortford since the turn of the last century. Our facilities include: 5 floodlit artificial grass courts (astro turf), 3 floodlit hard courts with Winter seasonal bubble, 6 grass courts and 2 purpose-built mini-tennis courts in a kids zone.

The Club caters for all ages and standards of players, from the age of 4 (for red, orange and green mini-tennis) to adult beginners and improvers. As well as coffee mornings and competitive team tennis, there are specific club sessions throughout the week: men’s mornings; ladies’ afternoons; mixed sessions; club nights; and ladder leagues for the more competitive. There are junior coaching and training sessions every weekday afternoon (4pm-7pm) and Saturday mornings (from 9am). In short, there is something for everyone!

Membership currently stands at approximately 300 seniors and 180 juniors. In the summer we run 4 ladies’ teams, 5 men’s teams, a mixed team in the local village league and 6 junior teams. There is also a very active winter programme.

The Club is managed by a Committee, elected on an annual basis at the AGM. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month. All suggestions and comments from members are welcomed and considered. Funding of the club comes primarily from membership fees, but also sponsorship and fund raising social events. If you have any comments or suggestions for the committee, please feel free to contact our Administrator Natalie –
